December 08, Marlene presented at the USRowing Annual
Convention in Boston. The topic was Technical Improvement
for Masters. In
this session, masters’ athletes and coaches learned how to make technical
improvements in sculling, rowing and indoor rowing.
The discussion was comprised of three sections: 1. What is technical
preparation? 2. Learning and perfecting skill; and 3. Principles of technique.
One Master's comment included: "I thought your talk was very good
and a welcome alternative to many of the other masters-track talks which were of
a "philosophical" nature. You covered a great deal of information and
I would say that all of it would be valuable to any serious masters
rower-regardless of experience/skill level" M. W-W.
