Callisto Tours presents Rowing in Exquisite Destinations with Coach Marlene Royle

Italy, September 5 to 11, 2010- Rowing in the Heart of Tuscany:

6 nights in a hilltop bed and breakfast minutes from San Miniato, a 12th century town set on the crest of one of the highest hills between Florence and Pisa. Morning workouts on a private rowing basin with individualized coaching by Marlene Royle. Optional activities for non-rowing guests include guided hikes, biking, cooking classes, wine tasting, golf, museum or spa visits. Afternoon sightseeing excursions to historic hill towns such as San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca, and Volterra: wine tasting local markets, and the Tuscan home cooking complete the immersion into the Italian culture.

Slovenia, September 19 to 26, 2010-The World Famous Rowing Center in Bled, Slovenia:

7 nights in a hotel 5 minutes walking distance from the pristine lake nestled in the spectacular Julian Alps. Bled is the home of the Slovenian National Rowing Team and the host of 3 World Rowing Championships (next in 2011). Morning workouts with Marlene's coaching followed by afternoon sightseeing in a private motor coach. Numerous optional activities for non-rowing guests such as golfing, hiking, cooking, wine tasting, museum or spa visits. Bled is an ideal rowing "camp" to polish technique as well as renew your energy. Slovenia's proximity to Venice, Istria, and Austria provide a perfect time to extend your trip a few days and explore something new.

Marlene's coaching has produced numerous world masters champions, masters nationals champions, Head of the Charles winners, and personal bests. College coaches, pre-elite athletes as well as those training for general health, re-entering the sport after injury, or just starting to compete use her programs. She is the author of "Tip of the Blade: notes on Rowing."

Pamela Abraham has been introducing scullers, cyclists, artists, and "foodies" to Italy since 2005 and is extremely pleased to be returning to Terralba with Marlene Royle. Equally exciting is the long anticipated introduction to one of the most important rowing centers of the world, Bled, Slovenia. Through history, art, food, wine, and sport we begin to experience other cultures. Join one of these unique groups and give yourself the gift of a lifetime.
