Head of the Chattahoochee, 11/3/01, Gainesville GA, 3 miles, Bill Youtie of Atlanta RC places 15th in the Men's Master C-D1x with a time of 23:18.3.

Head of the American, 10/28/01, Sacramento CA, Fred Conrad of Berkeley RC places 11th in the Men's Master 1x in 21:20.

Head of the Elk, 10/28/01, Elkhart IN, 2.5 miles, Chris Haigh of Indianapolis RC places 3rd in the Men's Master 1x with a time of 17:01.09.

Chattanooga Head Race, 10/13/01, Chattanooga TN, 3 miles, Bill Youtie of Atlanta RC places 6th in the Men's Senior Masters 1x in a time of 21:20.07.

Green Mountain Head, 09/30/01, Putney VT, 3 miles. Men's 1x (45-54): 2nd Rob Slocum, 21:18.4, 15th Andrew Nelson, 22:34.1, 31st David Ireland, 23:34.1. Men's 1x (55-64): 25th Jonathan Swift, 25:02.2 and 29th Chris Scott, 25:19.0. Women's 1x (45-54): 14th Marcia Steckler, 28:23.4.

Textile River Regatta, 09/30/01, Lowell MA, 3 miles, Women's 2x, Henri Power and Kelley Lessard of CRI place 9th in 26:40.

Head of the Licking, 09/29/01, Newport KY, 3 miles, Chris Haigh, 30, places 3rd in the Men's masters 1x in a time of 22:13.20. He also wins the Mixed Master 2x rowing for Indianapolis RC with a time of 22:14.00.

Cayuga Challenge, 9/23/01, Ithaca NY, 3100 meters, Betsy Nitschke of Rochester RC places 2nd in the Women's Master 1x. 

Head of the Androscoggin, 09/22/01, Greene ME, 3 miles, Chris Scott places 8th in the Men's 1x with a time of 24:02.

Tim Horton's Head of the Thames, 09/22/01, London Ontario. Alethea Stoyanovich wins the Mixed Masters 2x in a time of 21:11.4.

Charlie Butt Scullers Head of the Potomac, 9/22/01, Washington DC, 2.80 miles. In the Women's Senior Master 1x, Gia DeAngelis places 3rd in a time of 19:30.8, Steve Platt places 11th in the Men's Senior Master 1x in a time of 19:32.2.

10th Annual Coastweeks Regatta at Mystic Seaport, 9/16/01, Mystic CT, 2000 meters, Peter Falk representing Warthogs RC wins the Men's masters 2x in a time of 7:56.

Komen Portland Row for the Cure, 9/16/01, Portland OR, Anita Bigelow of Portland BC wins the Women's masters 1x in a time of 25:34.3.

Megunticook Mini-Marathon VII, 9/08/01, Camden ME, 10 miles. David Ireland places 7th rowing 1:16:12 in the Men's Masters 1x (35 & up).

Wye Island Regatta, 9/08/01, Wye Mills MD, 12 miles, Kathryn Imboden placed 5th in the Women's 1x and Gia DeAngelis/Karen Pape placed 3rd in the Women's 2x.

Masters Rowing Association Championships, 8/11/01, Cherry Hill NJ, 1000-m,Rob Slocum takes 2nd in the D1x and 1st in the D2x. Laura Kunkemueller and Kari Williams rowed in the Norwalk River RA Women's A-C4x to take 2nd place.

Carnegie Lake Rowing Assoc. Regatta, 8/11/01, Princeton NJ, Rob Slocum placed 1st and Steve Platt 4th in the Men's 1x, Peter Jensen rowing for CLRA placed 3rd in both the Men's 8 and the Mixed 8, Mike Wagner placed 3rd in the Mixed Quad and 5th in the Open 2x. Jan Stone won the Women's masters 1x in 4:19.

Sweeps & Sculls Regatta, 8/11/01, Providence RI, 1000 meters. Chris Scott places 5th in the Men's masters D1x in a time of 4:21.1.

Orlando Rowing Clubs Masters Regatta, 8/05/01, Orlando FL, 1000 meters. Debra Kamrad takes 3rd place in the Women's A-C2x  with a time of 4:32.2.

US Rowing Masters Midwest Regional Regatta, Indianapolis IN, 8/04/01, 1000m, Chris Haigh won the Men's A-C 2x by a clear margin, placed 2nd in the A-C 1x with a time of 3:46.4 unadjusted; the winning time was 3:44.3 and placed 2nd in the Rec. 1x. Steve Giddings of St. Louis placed 2nd in the E1x. Kevin Hutchinson of Cincinnati placed 4th in the Men's A-C 2x.

Maine State Championship, 8/04/01, Bridgton ME, 5000 meter: Andrew Nelson places 3rd in the Men's 1x (45-55) Chris Scott takes 7th in the Men's 1x (55-64). In the 1000 meter event, Andrew Nelson takes 2nd in 3:52. 

July:

Howard M. Smith Diamond State Regatta, 7/29/01, Middleton DE, 1100 meters. Rivanna's Gia DeAngelis and Karen Pape had an outstanding regatta, collectively they won the Women's C4x, A-B2x, C-J 2x, and A-B4x. Gia won 1st in the B1x heat. The Norwalk A-B4x with Laura Kunkemueller and Kari Williams won their heat and were 3rd overall. Betsy Nitschke of Rochester NY, placed 3rd in her B1x heat. On the men's side, Steve Platt was 3rd in the Men's A1x heat 1and Andrew Nelson took 4th in the Men's C-E1x heat 3. Rob Slocum held off a strong challenge by Jaime Rubini to win the trophy for the Men's D1x and the D2x.

Lake Merritt Sprints, 7/29/01, Oakland CA, 1000 meters. Fred Conrad of Berkeley RC wins the Mixed Masters E-G4x, places 4th in the E-F2x, and 6th in the E1x.

Conibear Regatta, 7/28/01-7/29/01, Vancouver WA, 1000m, Anita Bigelow of Portland OR won 1st in the E1x, C8+, B4x, and C4x. She also won 2nd in the D+ light 1x and 2nd in the D2x

Kennebec River Flat Water Drag, 7/14/01, Maine, 5k, Chris Scott of Amoskeag wins bronze in the Masters C age group.

Cromwell Cup, Boston MA, 7/07/01, 1000m, Rob Slocum claims the Masters D1x and D2x, Peter Falk places a strong 2nd in the qualifying heat with 1 to qualify.

Independence Day Regatta: 6/30/01-7/01/01, Philadelphia PA, 1000m, Gia DeAngelis of Rivanna RC won 1st place in the B1x in 4:42.4 and in the Quad, Rob Slocum of Norwalk River RA won 1st in the D1x and Masters 2x in 4:00.2, and Karen Pape of Rivanna RC placed 3rd in the C1x in 5:34.6.

June:

USRowing SE Regionals: 6/23/01-6/24/01, Aiken SC, 1000m, Debbie Kamrad won the Lightweight 2x in 4:07.6 and the Mixed 2x with husband, Dennis, 4:31.6, 5th in the Lwt. C-E 1x.

USRowing NW Regionals: 6/15/01-6/17/01, Vancouver Lake WA, 1000m,Anita Bigelow won the Masters D1x, D4+ open, and D4+ lightweight, and placed 3rd in the Masters C-D lightweight 1x.

Sunshine Games: 6/16/01, Florida, 1000m, Debbie Kamrad was 1st place in the Masters 2x, 1st place in the Open 4x, and 3rd in the C1x.

Stonewall Regatta: 6/09/01, Karen Pape & Gia DeAngelis won the Women's Open and Masters 2x, Gia DeAngelis won the Mixed 2x and  Masters B1x.

May:

The 3rd Annual Goldrush Regatta: 5/26/01, Sacramento CA, 1000m, Fred Conrad placed 2nd in the Mixed 4x, 3rd in the Mixed 2x, and 6th in the Masters E 1x.

Derby Sweeps & Sculls: 5/20/01, New Haven CT, 1000m, In the men's D1x: 1st Rob Slocum, 3rd Andrew Nelson, 4th Peter Falk. Rob Slocum also claimed the D2x and the Mixed 2x with Kari Williams.

Narragansett BC Regatta: 5/13/01, Providence RI, 1000m, Peter Falk wins the D2x and places 2nd in the D1x.

Spring Tune Up: 5/06/01, Hartford CT, 1000m, Rob Slocum places 1st in the D1x, D2x, and D8+, Andrew Nelson places 2nd in the D1x.

April:

San Diego Crew Classic: 4/08/01, CA, Anita Bigelow places 1st in the D8+

March:

2000 INDOOR WORLD RECORDS have been established by  Marlene Royle 6000 meters Lwt. 30-39 in 23:36.0. Marlene Royle 30-minute row Lwt. 30-39 total 7533 meters. Rob Slocum 10,000 meters Hvy. 50-59 in 34:39.8. Rob Slocum Marathon distance, Hvy. 50-59 in 2:31:55.9. Gia DeAngelis 30-minute row Lwt. 40-49 total 7451 meters.

Concept 2 First World Marathon Challenge: 3/19/01- 3/25/01, World-wide, Two Roylerow athletes placed in the 90th percentile in the Men's Open 50-59 age group; Peter Falk placed 4th of 50 with a time of 2:45:46.2 and Jonathan Swift placed 6th of 50 with a time of 2:52:56.3. Both represented Warthogs Rowing Club in Madison, CT.

The St. Patrick's Day Erg Classic: 03/17/01, Lyndhurst NJ, Steve Platt places 5th with a time of 7:22 in the Masters category.

ACAL Erg Sprints: 03/04/01, Charlottesville VA, Gia DeAngelis of Rivanna RC wins the Masters Women's event in a 2k time of 7:35.7.

The Swan Creek Erg Sprints: 03/04/01, Lambertsville NJ, Steve Platt, organizer, places 3rd in the Masters event with a 2k  time of 7:22.

Miami Beach Winter Sprints: 03/03/01, Miami Beach FL, Debra Kamrad of D & D Boat Club wins the Women's Masters 2x with partner, Billie Brown, on the water!

2k Erg Personal Bests:

"Marlene, I really owe it to you for developing a great plan since November, targeting the Crash-B's. You made me stick to it and it worked. Each phase gave me more confidence, especially doing the 2k tests. It became easier to make those times fall. That's 14 seconds off last year's Crash-B time!" Peter Falk, 02/26/01

Crash-B Sprints: 02/25/01, Boston MA, Senior Men (40-49) Jim Evans rowed a PR of 6:59.80 placing 49/87, Dave Powers rowed 7:07.50 placing 60/87. Senior Women (40-49) Henrietta Power put in a strong performance with 8:00.30 placing 17/29 and Debra Kamrad pulled a time of 8:30.40 placing 25/29.Vetran Men (50-59) Peter Falk rowed a PR 6:36.70 placing 10/70 and Jonathan Swift rowed 7:02.60 placing 34/70. Excellent efforts by all the Roylerow athletes!

The Jersey Jam: 02/12/01, Rutgers University NJ, Steve Platt rows 7:22 placing 2nd.

Mid-Atlantic Sprints: 02/03/01, Alexandria VA, Gia DeAngelis of Rivanna RC places 1st in the Lightweight Women's event in 7:40.8. Karen Pape of Rivanna RC places 8th in the same event with a time of 8:08.8.

January:

The Mainline Slide: 01/27/01, Villanova PA, Steve Platt rows his PR of 7:12, placing 7th in the Masters event.
